I like the idea behind this. When it comes to business's that sell a specific product they are able to make it fun, especially when they're targeting just their local area as they were here by keeping the hunt in Boston Downtown's. The search for a diamond would generate a rather large amount of people due to the value of such a prize. The publics were rather open, making a large amount of people getting involved, creating a larger potential traffic to the store.
it obviously worked for the company as they were able to re-plan the event to make it an annual event, with the number of teams doubling in a couple of years. The low cost makes it even more beneficial for the company as the cost would be quickly remade of a sale of one or two diamonds.

I think this case is exemplary in its use of MPR strategies. I knew nothing about this before reading your analysis. You did a good job analyzing its key components and identifying and discussing its main components.

Certainly, as you said, partnering always works. In this case it must have also broadened their potential customer base. Although you were crystal clear about the objectives, public and strategies, etc., you were not as clear re the specific tactics that they used.

    An intereting case, however.

    A late posting here....

I agree with jeanne. This was a well-analyzed case which employed pertinent strategies at the right time.

You are right, Jeanne....Word of Mouth is the key to creating buzz and influencing opinions and would have been a productive strategy here...

It as interesting case. I learned a lot reading it. you did a really good job analyzing it. if find it disturbing that they don't have a specific target audience. It is interesting that they used two message for one campaign. The first message is great " the best just got better". It goes great with the campaign. I don;t understand the second message " catch the wave". I agree with you when you said it is completely out of the campaign context, and it doesn't support the objectives. It makes me wonder why they used it. Overall, it enjoyed reading your campaign.

I believe that it was a successful campaign, you also analyzed it well. Using online as well as offline media is the key. It gives the opportunity to reach more people. I really like the message that they created. It simple but relevant, and you remember it easily. however, I would have liked to know specific information on the strategies and tactics they used because it seemed to be very successful. Overall, i really liked the campaign.

This case is really interesting especially because of the target audience. However, I am not sure if this campaign matches the purpose of this week's requirements. Even though it is through that the main objective is to educate the target market, however, the focus should not be on the same company. So I would probably have chosen different case to analyze for this week. Also your third objective should probably be stated as strategies..On the other hand i really like how you stated the lessons learned at the end of the campaign. Good job and interesting case.

This is another well analyzed case. I still remember the ads Mac has been showing on the TV and it made an impression on me. Mac has quality products but still needs some marketing public relations. The target market you have defined in the case is correct. I especially like the theme you have stated. It always a rivalry between Mac and PC and Mac seems to do better than PC. I have checked some ads after I saw your analysis and was really impressed. Web blogging was very successful as well. I liked the link you have added. Good job.

Lenka, I really like your campaign analysis. LEGO has prepared a very good campaign and they have used many successful strategies and tactics. The target market they have chosen for their campaign was very well researched and analyzed and therefore created a significant difference in evaluation. Including dads in their secondary market was probably very strategic, however, choosing it was based on previous research. Most of the strategies used were aimed on gaining the attention from the target market. Having a scholarship contest proved LEGO's vision of helping the community. LEGO is a old-fashion game, however probably one of the most interesting games in the world. Very well analyzed case.

Benoit, I really like your campaign. It was not only a successful campaign, but your analysis was very professional. My only concern would be if you could explain to me the details about the pathos and ethos. I would think that the campaign used a lot of credibility(ethos) by using the designers and celebrities. I believe this lesson learned is very important to remember. Another powerful tool they have used was using the new technology, designing the website and blogs. They could generate more word of mouth with the use of internet. I think using their anniversary to revitalize the product its a great timing and this is crucial for public relations. I think this campaign included everything a successful campaign needs to have. Your analysis was very well done, indeed.
